Diamondhead residents seeing discount on flood insurance

Diamondhead residents may soon get a discount on their flood insurance.

It’s thanks to the city’s application to the National Flood Insurance Program’s community ratings system.

Specifically, the city has achieved a Class 8 rating under that system, after the city tackled various flood mitigation and safety improvements.

City leaders say starting April 1, 2025, Diamondhead homeowners will qualify for a 10% discount on flood insurance premiums.
