Diamondhead Mayor Tommy Schafer hospitalized in serious condition

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, Mayor Thomas “Tommy” E. Schafer IV had a scheduled surgery.

On Wednesday, Camille Schafer, his wife, notified the City of Diamondhead that during the surgery there were some complications and that Tommy is in serious condition.

She noted that this is a personal matter, and she requests that everyone respect the privacy of their family. Camille asks everyone to please keep Tommy in their prayers for his speedy recovery.

As the family provides more information, City Hall will work to keep the community informed about Tommy’s condition.
