Diamondhead businessman runs for U.S. Senate
Today Richard Boyanton stopped by our studio to speak about the drive behind his campaign to become the next U.S. senator for the state of Mississippi.
Since March 2nd, Boyanton has been campaigning all over the state of Mississippi visiting over 25 cities to date. The Diamondhead business man tells News 25 that although he voted for Wicker during his first term he was watched him be short of a Republic who does not represent the state of Mississippi in the Senate.
Boyanton says as a businessman he has always resolved issues at hand and he is ready to that in Washington as well and he is ready to that in Washington as well. Boyanton says once in the Senate, national debt will be the first issue he will strive to solve. “We have to be responsible. This national debt is putting it on our kids. We probably won’t be alive when our country fails, but we will be the cause of it. So, we have to have a responsible government with responsible people to make responsible decisions. I am a grandfather, a great-grandfather. I have a job. I don’t need to be a politician. I was driven to be a politician because I cannot stand the direction the country is going and our politicians that get elected don’t tell the truth and don’t follow through.”
Boyanton says he would like to see the country get back to some of its root values including trust in individuals and their work ethic, combined with unity, self-sacrifice, and a willingness to strive for a greater, common goal.
