Developing City of Biloxi’s budget

The City of Biloxi will begin crunching numbers in preparation for the 2018 fiscal year budget.
Employee medical insurance is key in the budget. The current plan is budgeted at $6.5 million of the city’s $59 million budget.
Workshops are planned for August 8th concerning museums and other discretionary spending, August 15th on Port and water-sewer operations, and August 22nd for capital projects, revenue, and departmental budgets.
The city’s current budget consists of three primary revenue streams: gaming taxes, sales taxes, and property taxes.
The new budget will take effect October 1st.
