Destroyer Ted Stevens completes sea trials
Ingalls announced the Destroyer Ted Stevens has completed its sea trials.
The Ted Stevens is the second flight three destroyer built at Ingalls.
These trials were conducted over several days in the Gulf, testing the ship’s engineering, navigation, and combat systems.
All this to ensure readiness for the future acceptance trials and delivery to the Navy.
During builder’s trials, the Ingalls Test and Trials team completed a range of hull, mechanical, and electrical tests.
A radar array test was also completed.
All tests are designed to validate system performance and ensure the ship meets and event exceeds the Navy’s requirement.
