Deputy Hit by Ocean Springs Driver

A Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy was sent to the hospital after a driver crashed into him while parked on Interstate 10 this morning.
Twenty-six year-old Christopher Sexton was parked westbound near the Cowan Lorraine Road exit, monitoring traffic around 9:30 this morning, when a vehicle slammed into the left rear side of his patrol car.
The impact knocked the deputy’s car 180 degrees into the middle lane of the interstate. Fortunately, no other vehicles hit him.
The deputy and the driver of the other vehicle, 66-year-old Ronald Cameron, were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
