Decision on Harrison County Skate Park Looming

Harrison County supervisors will soon decide the fate of the old skate park off of Debuys Road.
From a year-round ice skating rink to a place where Coast actors can sharpen their skills, supervisors have been fielding proposals and bids from businesses looking to revive the park.
Regardless of who ends up taking over the property, District 5 Supervisor Connie Rockco will be happy to see the space occupied and once again providing a service to the community she serves.
Rockco tells News 25 the board voted to have a work session where they will hear from all of the companies vying for the property. “Let each one plead their case and see which proposal is going to be the best. Have an open discussion about it then hopefully make a decision quickly thereafter. We need the school board there as well. When the school board weighs in then we will accept the proposal and move forward and open that thing back up.”
The board voted to hold the meeting on August 20th at 10 a.m.
