DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day enters 15th Year of removing unneeded medications from communities

NEW ORLEANS – The Drug Enforcement Administration New Orleans Division, alongside its law enforcement partners, will host the 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

The goal of the event is to remove unneeded prescriptions from the home to prevent medication misuse.

The event is free and attendees remain anonymous when disposing of unneeded medications. There are close to 5,000 drop-off locations nationwide.

For fifteen years, DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day has helped Americans easily rid their homes of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—some of which can be a gateway to addiction.

  • Singing River Health System-Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula
