Daphne White signs with Mississippi State Women’s basketball

If St. Martin basketball standout Daphane White joined the Mississippi State women’s basketball team today, there would only be one player taller than her on the roster. Maybe that’ll still be the case when she gets there next year.
This afternoon, the 6’3” center put pen to paper with the Lady Bulldogs fresh off their monumental upset of UConn and their first NCAA title game appearance in program history.
Now a senior, White has been causing havoc in the paint for a while now and she says she’s ready to do the same up in Starkville as a part of Vic Schaefer’s top ten signing class. “It feels like the coaching staff is really good, I just feel like I’ll fit right in. I feel like I’ll be at home with them. It makes me happy knowing that one day I’m going to be with them, I’m going to be getting rings with them. It just makes me happy. It was exciting, it was something I wanted to be a part of,” said White.
White says her favorite part about today’s ceremony was her family being in attendance.
Softball standout Katelynn Carcich also signed out of St. Martin to play with Delta State.
