Dan Mullen receives contract extension
In light of what’s to come for the Ole Miss football program, stability has never been more important for rival Mississippi State. Today the Bulldogs made sure their head coach wasn’t going anywhere.
Dan Mullen is the recipient of a four year contract extension running through February 2012. This evening, Athletic Director John Cohen announced the new deal, one that will pay Mullen $4.5 million this season. Other terms of the contract have not yet been made public.
What is available for public consumption is Mullen’s success in Starkville where the 9th year head man has led MSU to seven straight bowl game appearances, winning five of them. Both of which are the most in school history.
In 2014, Mullen also led the program to its first ever number one ranking. He was named the national and Southeastern Conference coach of the year.
After going 6-7 last season, Mullen is only 12 wins shy of the most in school history.
