Dale Brown Sports Academy Camp

Making baskets while making good life choices is what Coast kids are doing at the tenth annual Dale Brown Sports Academy Camp in Ocean Springs.

The four day camp tipped off today at Tocani Elementary School. It is hosted by former University of Kentucky and NBA star Dale Brown.

Over the next few days, boys and girls will strengthen their basketball skills through shooting and dribbling drills as well as have a chance to listen to guest speakers talk about what it takes to make it in the big leagues.

Brown tells News 25 he really wants to teach these kids about life. “Let them know that they got to take care of business in the classroom before you step on the basketball court. That’s one of my first messages I give to them and just let them know how hard you go to work. You know, whatever sport you want to try to play, basketball, football, baseball, whatever it may be, you just got to put time in and work at your game.”
