Cupcake War competition at Mississippi School Nutrition Association conference
It is day two of the 53rd annual conference for the Mississippi School Nutrition Association and a little friendly competition was in the air.
Cafeteria managers and staff members throughout the Magnolia State were putting their pastry skills to the test as they battled it out in a cupcake war.
The four contestants only had 45 minutes to prepare their delicacies to submit for judging. The winner of the competition will be going home with a cash prize.
Alex Hallmark, president elect of the Mississippi Nutrition School Association, says competitions like this allows for creativity. “Just like any other workplace, everybody brings their own special touch. And so, we know we have a lot of child nutrition professionals throughout the state who have some type of creative specialty and so this gives them the opportunity to showcase it all of their other co-workers.”
The winner of the cupcake wars competition will be announced at the Coast Coliseum tomorrow night during the banquet.
