Crusaders for Veterans holds annual Freedom Ball

The Crusaders for Veterans held its seventh annual Freedom Ball this weekend in honor of our military.

This ball got its start to encourage people to be proactive in helping the military and our veterans. Crusaders for Veterans President Kevin Cuttill says it is a way to honor and recognize our servicemen and woman and all they’ve achieved.

This year, the organization focused on recognizing several Purple Heart recipients at the event.

The ball is also a fundraiser to help raise money for a three-stage veteran village with the goal of getting vets off the street and learning skills to help them find new careers. Cuttill said, “You recognize the sacrifices that they made, you know, that they were put in to be in battle – put in the position to do it – and they didn’t back away from it. They stood up, they did their job, and they got injured, and so we’re doing our best to recognize the sacrifices because once you get shot – depending on where it’s at – it’s a lifelong change.”

Crusaders for Veterans volunteers were also honored for their work in the organization.
