Cruisin’ the Coast: Biloxi Block Party

Downtown Biloxi is always packed with cool cars during their annual Block Party.

The Biloxi Block Party runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cars are lined up and down Lameuse Street for the event. As any experienced Cruiser would tell you, in order to secure a prime parking spot for the event, you’re going to have to get here early. “4:30. Yeah, no 4:30.”

Connecticut Cruiser Bob Balkow said, “We were in line at 4 a.m. We left the hotel about a quarter to four and there’s probably a few hundred cars ahead of us.”

Gulfport Cruiser Gaylon Rolison said, “I’m not sure I went to bed last night to be honest with you. We got here super early. It was probably around the 2:30 or 3 a.m. mark.”

For these Cruisers, deciding to sacrifice sleep or have central parking was an easy decision. Florida Cruiser Ronnie Green said, “We don’t get any rest. We come to meet people, see people, and look at old cars. We’re car people. It’s what we do.”

“Everything down here is a great time, seeing the cool cars and being in historic Biloxi. It’s a great time all around.”

These Cruisers all have their secrets to staying awake during the events. “A lot of five-hour energy throughout the day.”

“I’ll probably head home around lunchtime, take a little nap, and hit the road again.”
