Cruisin’ Parade held at Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport

This afternoon, folks at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport were able to experience a taste of the Largest Block Party in the World with a Cruisin’ parade.

The show is held each year at the home to give the residents who are not able to leave often some Cruisin’ experience.

While this parade is not an official stop on the Cruisin’ schedule, hundreds of cruisers still line up each year to give the veterans a taste of the party.

Each of the cruisers participating line up by the retirement home to show off their hot rods to all the veterans in attendance.

Some of the vets say this is an event they look forward to each year. Marine Corps Veteran Jo Arnold said, “It’s absolutely awesome. I mean all of these beautiful new cars, old cars, it really brings back a lot of what we used to do, you know? It’s memories for us, and the people who are participating, all I can say is my hats off to them.”

This year organizers estimated that more than 500 cruisers showed up for the event.
