Cruisin’ into Coast Sock Hop

Cruisers left the streets and piled into the Beau Rivage for a blast from the past tonight. It was all for the Cruisin’ into the Coast Sock Hop at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino.
Ladies put on their poodle skirts with their pink jackets and the fellas put on their tight-rolled jeans and white t-shirts and danced the night away. Courtney Hansen, host of “PowerNation” on Spike TV, was also in the room signing autographs and taking pictures. Sonny Turner, former lead singer of The Platters, also performed for the crowd.
Cruisin’ visitor Danna Adams said, “It’s just wonderful to meet so many people from all different states and getting to meet these wonderful people and the sock hop is awesome. We like coming over here every year. We’ve been doing this for the past five years and we just like the talent that everyone has.” Danna Adams and her family are from Louisiana, they tell News 25 they have been coming to Cruisin’ the Coast for 15 years now.
Tomorrow, the Beau Rivage will have a tent set up at Cruise Central in Gulfport from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. where they will have giveaways, entertainment, photo opportunities and free spins on a large prize wheel.
