Cruisin’ event at Armed Forces Retirement Home canceled due to government shutdown

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Due to the federal government shutdown, Cruisin’ for Vets parade at the Armed Forces Retirement Home has been canceled.

With limited staff available during the furlough, they cannot ensure adequate support for their veteran’s needs.

They know many were looking forward to this tradition and thank the public for understanding and supporting local veterans.

The home says they look forward to welcoming the community to future events once normal operations resume.
