Cruisers take over downtown Moss Point for Cruisin’ the River City
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- Classic cars took over Downtown Moss Point as Cruisin’ the River City brought the sights, sounds, and chrome of Cruisin’ the Coast to the River City.
From Main Street to the Riverfront, Cruisers and spectators came out to see the vehicles and take in the atmosphere. Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight said, “This is our 11th year doing this with Cruisin’ the Coast and we are so happy to be a part of it. People coming to Moss Point to tell us how much they enjoy it regardless of where they are coming from. So, it’s that real true southern hospitality that they realize here it’s not fake, this is real and we are so happy to host them during this time. So, it’s exciting for us, exciting for our people. Our people are happy to have them. So, we’re just glad to have them in our community.”
For Moss Point, Cruisin’ the River City has become a way to show off the city’s downtown.
With the event free for spectators, people could walk the rows of classic and custom cars, visit local businesses, and enjoy the riverfront.
For hours, the sound of engines and the sight of classic cars filled Downtown Moss Point. Cruiser Pepper Hardy said, “I think this is my 19th year down here and we love this venue; we like to come over here and sit around the river here. And the people are so nice but especially like to come here and eat the food.”
Cruisin’ the Coast celebrations continue across South Mississippi through the rest of the week.
