Credit Card Skimming Device Found in Pass Christian

Yet another credit card skimming device has turned up at a Coast gas station.
This morning in Pass Christian, a skimmer device was discovered by a pump technician. The device was similar to several that were discovered at the Robinwood One Stop in Saucier on January 18th. The devices cannot be seen by unsuspecting customers and victims are often unaware until their information has been compromised.
Lieutenant Coley Judy with Harrison County Sheriff’s Office urged anyone who stopped at the Chevron at 8329 Firetower Road to call their bank about possible fraudulent charges. “The maintenance guy was doing routine maintenance on a pump. He had complaints from employees that there was a certain problem with a certain pump so he came out and checked it and when he opened it up he found a skimmer inside the pump. Usually with these skimmers, it’s the same type of skimmer that we found at the Robinwood One Stop off of Highway 49, same technology.”
According to Lt. Judy there’s no clear evidence that the skimmers in Saucier and the skimmer found in Pass Christian are related.
