Crawfish Music Festival still on this weekend rain or shine
As they say, the show must go on! The 28th annual Crawfish Music Festival in Biloxi is still on tonight and this weekend, rain or shine.
After one a year-hiatus due to COVID, the 28th annual Crawfish Music Festival got off to a soggy start Wednesday and stubbornly left another trail Friday morning as crew members set the stage for this weekend’s festival and entertainment. Mississippi Coast Coliseum Executive Director Matt McDonnell said, “Tonight, unfortunately, the forecast won’t be getting any better. We will be inside for the musical entertainment. That will start at 6:30 pm. The doors to the Coliseum Arena will open at 5:30 pm. Tomorrow, it looks like we’re going to be getting a lot of rain on Saturday, a lot, but the shows will still perform inside the Coliseum Arena.”
If the lightning holds off, you can catch one of these amusement rides. “They’ll be running tonight. We will get some good weather for a short window, probably until 8 or 9 tonight. you will get a window to do so. Tomorrow, I can’t tell you what the window looks like because the weather is changing constantly.”
Event organizers say the weather should improve later this weekend and they expect the Crawfish Music Festival to be in full swing come Sunday. “Sunday the sunshine comes back, and we will be back outdoors where we belong. The Crawfish Cook Off will move to Sunday as well where all the teams will be able to compete for a prize of $4,000 in cash. You can come out and sample those crawfish for an admission price into their cooking area. We might lose a few, but we’ll have a lot of teams cooking crawfish, so to sample that for the low price of $15 dollars, that’s a lot of crawfish.”
