Crawfish Music Festival set up is underway

The minute spring break ended Sunday evening, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum team got right back to work prepping for the 26th annual Crawfish Music Festival.

The five days of good old fashioned family entertainment, live music, and all the hot-boiled crawfish you can eat begins tomorrow evening at 5 p.m.

Wednesday and Thursday nights are free-gate admission then the headliners start rolling in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with names like Old Dominion, Jamey Johnson, and Cody Jinks just to name a few.

Typically the festival plays out over two weekends, but this year it’s down to just one. Coast Coliseum Executive Director Matt McDonnell said, “It’s the most fun event that we do each and every year. You’ve got the rides so they’ll be pay one price days every day. We have a giant crawfish cook-off that will be here on Saturday. Thirty teams competing for $3,000 in cash and if you want to sample their cooking you can do so for a real small fee and it’s almost like an all-you-can-eat because of the fact that there’s so many teams that will be competing.”
