COVID-19: 653 new cases, six new deaths statewide

The Mississippi State Department of Health has released the latest COVID-19 numbers in our state. They have reported 653 new cases and six new deaths.

The statewide total now stands at 52,957 confirmed cases and 1,501 deaths.

Here are the numbers for our area:

• Hancock County is now at 277 cases and 14 deaths
• Harrison County is at 1,824 cases and 26 deaths
• Jackson County is at 1,596 cases and 27 deaths
• Stone County is at 129 cases and two deaths
• George County has 247 cases and five deaths
• Pearl River County stands at 431 cases and 24 deaths.
