COVID-19: 572 new cases, eight new deaths statewide

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 572 new COVID-19 cases and eight new deaths.

The statewide total now stands at 61,125 confirmed cases and 1,711 deaths.

Here are the numbers in our area:

• Hancock County is at 336 cases and 14 deaths
• Harrison County is at 2,152 cases and 32 deaths
• Jackson County is at 1,994 cases and 34 deaths
• Stone County is at 152 cases and three deaths
• George County has 547 cases and five deaths
• Pearl River County has 485 cases and 36 deaths
