COVID-19: 1,547 new cases and 34 new deaths statewide

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 1,547 new COVID-19 cases and 34 new deaths with one new death in Harrison County.

The statewide total now stands at 47,071 confirmed cases and 1,423 deaths.

Here are the numbers for our area:

• Hancock County is now at 214 cases and still 14 deaths
• Harrison County is at 1,573 total cases with 21 deaths
• Jackson County is at 1,368 cases and 23 deaths
• Stone County is at 111 cases and two deaths
• George County has 196 cases and three deaths
• Pearl River County stands at 391 cases and 32 deaths
