Corvettes honor vets this Independence Day
Gulf Coast Corvettes cranked up the gratitude by honoring veterans in a special way this Independence Day.
As the sound of revving engines fills the air and flags wave, there is a powerful connection between Corvette owners and veterans.
Gulf Coast Corvettes brought out 24 Corvettes to the Armed Forces Retirement Home as a thank you for the sacrifices they made for our independence.
Veterans lined the street in excitement as they were greeted before a joy ride.
Corvette enthusiast Tom Bocek explains what this day is like for the vets.
“What we intend to do today, we run a couple of laps around this beautiful flag circle and after that we park,” Bocek said. “We talk to a veteran. We tell stories, war stories, or corvette stories then we go to lunch together in their beautiful dining facility and after that we’re going to give rides to the veterans.”
Gulf Coast Corvettes encourages Corvette owners to join them next year for “Vettes for Vets.”
