Cook Road connector officially open
Jackson County’s Cook Road connector is now officially open and is already bringing new business opportunities to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
“Today is a great announcement to cut the ribbon to open the road, and its just positive because it an infrastructure project that opens up development on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “You’re going to see more and more people investing capital here, creating jobs here, and ultimately there’s going to be more tax revenue on the Gulf Coast. That’s something we’re all proud of.”
Business retailers have already been conducting business along the newly opened road.
“We’ve already got multiple box retailers that have made contact with us and inquiring about certain parcels and just wanting to know in general what the county can help them with and can’t help them with,” said Randy Bosarge, the District 5 Supervisor in Jackson County.
“My dad was Harold and the Mallett property starts in Harrison County and goes all the way through the road all the way through Seaman road and ends at my Uncle Rufus’s property,” said Presley Mallett, whose family the road is named after. “And my dad thought, it would be a great idea since it starts at Mallet property and ends at Mallett property that it should be named Mallett Road. So we’re just tickled to death, we’re glad it’s finally finished it’s been a long time coming.”
Mallett Road will be the source for new jobs and career opportunities for years to come.
