Contractor Oscar Renda paying $6,000 a day fine to Biloxi

Six thousand dollars a day: that’s the amount of money contractor Oscar Renda is paying the City of Biloxi each day until the company completes the infrastructure work that was supposed to be finished January 6th.

Oscar Renda landed a $128 million contract with the City of Biloxi years ago as a part of an overall infrastructure project encompassing the downtown area and beyond. Residents and businesses have complained about how delays in the project have adversely affected them.

A representative for Oscar Renda says they’re down to less than seven miles of streets that now need paving and adds they are working hard to get them done.
