Construction work continues on I-110 South exit ramp to Division Street

Construction work is continuing in a busy part of Biloxi.

With the Division Street gate for Keesler Air Force Base now open, more people are traveling the already busy road.

Contractors are installing new lighting on the I-110 South exit ramp that leads to Division Street.

The road is also being widened by adding additional lanes to each side of the highway as well as bike lanes on each side.

The work is part of an improvement project that also should help traffic flow. Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Cecilia Dobbs-Walton said, “Division Street is a road that is accessed by a lot people, of course having Keesler gate here, it just adds on. And of course, you know overall revamping the street is great for the community in general. You know you want to make it prettier aesthetics for the residents that live in this area and of course it will make it a nicer road for people to travel on.”

The City of Biloxi apologizes for the inconvenience, but is looking forward to the finished product.
