Construction underway on improvement project in Downtown Pascagoula

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- Construction is underway on a major improvement project in Downtown Pascagoula.

Work has officially begun on the Train Depot courtyard, Railroad Avenue parking lot, and green space project.

The development will create a new public courtyard, adding 40 parking spaces, and transform the corner of Frederick Street and Railroad Avenue into a community gathering space.

The project is designed to enhance the downtown experience for residents, businesses and visitors, while supporting continued growth around the historic train depot and Amtrak station.

Construction is expected to continue over the coming months as the city shares updates on its progress.
