Construction on Scarlet Pearl Gets Going Early in the A.M.
The Scarlet Pearl Casino construction is in full force, but during a time when most people are asleep.
Roy Anderson Corp Contractors have been at the sight as early as 2 a.m. to pour concrete, which is a self- heating material that can only be poured during certain temperatures. With temperatures in south Mississippi heating up, the crews say they don’t want to take any chances.
Guice Shuman, Project Superintendent for Roy Anderson Corp, says, “We poured about 600 feet of concrete this morning, and because of the heat concerns with concrete, it generates its own heat after 90 minutes, you have to get it in the ground pretty quick.”
The company tries to warn nearby residents a week in advance about early morning construction.
