Congressman Mike Ezell speaks on debt ceiling plan

The House of Representatives has officially passed the debt ceiling plan put forth by President Biden and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy.

Congressman Ezell confirmed that he voted yes on the plan. While he isn’t satisfied with how little the country is cutting in spending, he is happy with the new work requirements and permitting being put in place.

Ezell says the plan protects Medicare, veterans, and social security and while the plan isn’t perfect to him, he says it’s a win. “We got a deal. It wasn’t an ideal deal, but it is what we came up with. I felt like voting yes was the best thing to do. As Ronald Regan said, ‘a win is a win.’”

Congressman Ezell feels confident they’ll receive something back from the Senate.
