Congressman Mike Ezell releases statement on George Santos’ expulsion

It’s almost been a week since the historic expulsion of George Santos from the House of Representatives.

Congressman Mike Ezell voted ‘no’ to the expulsion, releasing a statement to explain his vote.

Starting the statement, Rep. Ezell stated he never thought Santos belongs to Congress.

Ezell said the evidence the Ethics Committee found was damning and so was Santos’ own statements.

He finished his statement by saying personal feelings do not meet the standards the Founding Fathers established for expulsion.

Ezell said no member of Congress had been expelled without either committing treason or being convicted of a crime.

Ezell ended his statement by saying the people of New York elected Santos and should be the ones to remove Santos.
