Congressional Primary Elections are tomorrow
The Congressional Primary Elections are tomorrow and poll workers have been hard at work getting ballots out to 32 precincts.
Residents of the Fourth Congressional District can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary.
The incumbent, Steven Palazzo, will be challenged by six other Republicans. He’s facing off against Raymond Brooks, Carl Boyington, Mike Ezell, Kidron Peterson, Clay Wagner, and Brice Wiggins.
Two people are also vying for the Democratic nomination for the general election. Those opponents are former Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny Dupree and David Sellers.
This time around, voters will have the ability to use mobile I.D. Jackson County Election Commission Chair Danny Glaskox said, “It is an app on your phone. The only thing that concerns me is if someone tries to take a picture of their driver’s license and use that. It’s not legal. The app actually has the face turn very slowly and you have to watch for that turning face for it to be legit. That app also displays the front and back of that drivers license so you can tell if it is legit or not.”
Primary elections are tomorrow and the general election is set for November 8th.
