Congressional leaders urge action on EU trade relating to state’s forestry industry
Mississippi’s entire congressional delegation is asking the Trump administration to help our state.
Both of Mississippi’s U.S. senators and all four congressmen sent a letter to the U.S. Trade representative, asking him to prioritize Mississippi forest and farming exports in current trade talks with the European Union.
Mississippi’s delegation says EU regulations on deforestation will make it harder for Mississippi products to be exported to Europe.
Right now, forest products and crops like soybeans and sweet potatoes are among the leading Mississippi agriculture products exported to the E.U.
