Conference USA releases 2021 football schedule

On Friday, Southern Miss said it was leaving Conference USA. So did Marshall and Old Dominion.

Today, C-USA released the composite 2022 football schedule which still includes USM, Marshall, and ODU.

According to the release, the Golden Eagles are still in line to begin conference play on October 8^th at home against Louisiana Tech.

But remember, the university intends to leave C-USA effective June 30^th, 2022. Other league games include UTEP, North Texas, UTSA, Middle Tennessee, Florida International, Rice, and UAB.

Southern Miss is starting its regular season on September 3^rd at home against Liberty with other non-conference games at Miami, at home against Northwestern State, and at Tulane.

Here’s the official statement from C-USA in response to last week’s news: “Conference USA intends to conduct the 2022-23 athletic year with the full 14 institution membership intact. The C-USA Board of Directors will exhaust all necessary legal action to ensure all members meet their contractual obligations as defined by and agreed to in the Conference USA bylaws.”
