Concerts on the Causeway benefiting nonprofits on the Coast
In Biloxi, a restaurant owner and friend have partnered to raise funds for a good cause.
Yul Grace, owner of Yul’s Place Restaurant, and Matt Olivari, owner of Gulf Island Promotions, began the Concerts on the Causeway series last month.
The two have paired to host concerts every month to raise funds for various nonprofit organizations that give back to the community.
This month, funds raised from the concert will go to the Mental Health Association of Southern Mississippi with an emphasis on helping young children.
Last night, the community came out to watch a beautiful sunset on the causeway, have fun, and hear numerous selections from various genres of music by local artist Michael Halat. “We’re blessed to have great businesses and things go good and we wanted to give back to the community. We thought this was a great, there’s a better atmosphere, and a great place to do it. We want to make sure that we do just a little bit. If we can do a little bit, you know, we can really go a long ways with helping these children. Let them know that there’s a place you go talk to people and there won’t be no repercussions. People won’t retaliate against you.”
The Concerts on the Causeway series is every second Wednesday of every month at Yul’s Place on Causeway Drive in Biloxi.
