Community Youth Career Development Center

At risk youth have a new alternative in counties across Mississippi called the Community Youth Career Development Center.
The YMCA in Bay St. Louis has recently opened its doors to this new program. The youth career development center will accept children, ages 12-18, who are more easily susceptible to involvement in the juvenile justice system. Volunteer Glenda Ander said, “What we are trying to do is produce future leaders for our community. We have some awesome kids. We have some kids who have super talents. They can paint and draw and have never had an art class. Those are the kind of things we want to find avenues for these kids to do and some sponsors for them because they can’t afford this stuff to go farther.”
The program is free and the YMCA has volunteers that will pick up kids from school as well as drop them off.
