Community welcomes all-female veteran honor flight home at Gulfport Biloxi International

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A special honor flight welcome home event took place at Gulfport Biloxi International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Dozens of community members, city leaders, and elementary students packed the airport to welcome nearly two dozen female veterans back from a recent trip to Washington, D.C. where they had the chance to visit some of the capital city’s most famous monuments.

Upon landing, the plane received a water salute. 

As the veterans made their way through the airport, they were greeted with cheers, hugs, signs, and flags.
