Community Resource Fair

When people file into Edgewater Mall it’s usually to go shopping, but today they learned about vital community resources.
Disability Connection held their community resource fair this morning. It is a one stop shop for nonprofits to share information about the services they offer on the Coast.
For lesser known nonprofits it’s a way to get their name out to the community and to Coast residents that may have never heard about them before.
Beth Victoriano with Ainsley’s Angels said, “This event is super important because it gets the word out. It lets people know who otherwise might not know what we do, what’s available for the community and what’s available for them.”
Leslie Cruz was seeking helpful community resources. She said, “I actually think of the fair as really good, really great. There’s a lot of volunteer opportunities that you participate in. What I enjoy the most is being able to talk to the volunteers, see what they provide, what do they do to help the community.”
Eighty nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses were on hand to assist.
