COMMUNITY REACTS TO BILOXI PROJECTS
One of the long list of projects going on around Biloxi is the renovation of the Saegner theatre. Around 200 events are held in the theater every year which attracts around thirty thousand people. With events already scheduled this year, many will now have to look for a new place to host their shows. Among those is the gulf coast Symphony Orchestra.
Dhiana Skmretti, a member of the Gulf Coast Symhony Orchestra explains, “It is always important to hear what the City of Biloxi is doing and the updates and since we are with the gulf coast Symphony Orchestra we perform in the Saenger so in order to hear updates on what is going on with our house it is always good to hear directly from the mayors mouth. In the long run it will be better for everyone and more sustainable and beautiful facility.”
The theatre is expected to be closed for at least a year.
