Community rallies around family of Gulfport man following accident at Flint Creek

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A Gulfport family is continuing to mourn the sudden loss of Jacob Nitkiewicz, who passed away in the tragic accident that took place at Flint Creek over the weekend.

Nitkiewicz, a husband and father, died early Saturday morning, leaving behind his wife and daughter.

Now, loved ones are rallying around the family as they face the difficult road ahead.

A family friend has organized a GoFundMe to help support them in the coming months. So far, donors have raised nearly $6,000, already more than half of the fundraising goal.
