Community members send gifts to Singing River linemen for Valentine’s Day
Singing River Electric went to Facebook for a Valentine’s Day idea for their linemen.
The electric co-op posted on January 20th calling for homemade Valentine’s cards and gifts to be sent to their office. The response blew away all expectations.
They were expecting around 100 or so cards, but more than 400 letters and gifts arrived to the Singing River office for their 65 linemen.
The co-op is grateful that so many people took part. Singing River Co-Op Manager of PR Lorri Freeman said, “From our linemen and all our employees at Singing River Electric, SR Connect Fiber, we just want to say thank you. Thank you to all of the schools – I can’t even list all the schools and all the teachers, all the parents, all the grandparents, all the church workers – just anybody that encouraged a child to participate.”
Freeman said they opened every card and gift that was received.
