Community leaders gather for trivia and a good cause

South Mississippi community leaders came together to put their trivia skills to the ultimate test.

On Thursday night both business and community leaders gathered in the IMPAC Center in Gulfport to take part in the Are You Smarter Than A Club Kid A Club Kid fundraiser. Participants were paired with children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast to compete in a night full of grade school trivia.

Funds raised from the event went directly towards the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast and the several operations they have in South Mississippi providing opportunities for the area’s youth.

“The community and business leaders in the community, they see the impact the Boys and Girls Club is having, the youth that they are reaching in two counties, in Harrison County and Hancock County, and for the community and community leaders to see that and to participate in events like this I think speaks volumes,” said Senior Director of Resource Development, Wayne Buchanan.

Our own Ansley Brent took part in the competition, making it to the sudden death final round and achieving a respectable second place finish.
