Community gifts Pass Christian man new rocking chair

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV) — The Pass Christian community is coming together to support a local man who sits outside a small family-owned business each day, offering a listening ear to those who need it.

Divine Grace opened its doors just a few weeks ago, sharing the same parking lot as Grace Chapel Baptist Church and preschool. Every day, rain or shine, Weylin Necaise has sat right outside the door in a folding chair, waving at each person driving by, and ministering to those who stop in.

The community is now coming together to give him a brand new rocking chair so that he can be comfortable while he preaches and shines his light on others.

“Weylin walked across the parking lot and was talking to the kids, being a light like he always is, and when he went back to sit down, Sarah said, ‘Look he’s sitting in that chair. It looks so hot. Maybe we should get him a rocking chair. So it was just a simple, little conversation, and it went from there,” said Chasity Rush, owner of Grace Chapel Preschool. “It was such a blessing. I’m still getting goosebumps about it. For everyone to come forward and say they wanted to help… it was God and it was a blessing all together.”

Weylin was born with William’s Syndrome, a developmental disorder that affects many parts of the body. He has spent his life in and out of hospitals, but is now wanting to share his testimony of strength and healing with others.

“God healed me from my stomach problems that I had. It really shows how God can work in somebody’s life,” said Weylin.

Over $500 has been raised through the GoFundMe and an anonymous donor, all going straight toward Weylin’s new rocking chair. He says that when he found out about the donations, he couldn’t believe it, but he’s very grateful to have those in the community come together for him.

Weylin hopes to continue ministering to those who stop by, but now, with a more comfortable seating arrangement.

“I feel very blessed. I’m looking for the brokenhearted, I’m looking for the lost. I’m looking mainly for people who have lost loved ones,” said Weylin. “Y’all will see me out here, so just come on in and stop by.”

Weylin’s new rocking chair is expected to come in next week. In the meantime, if you want to stop by to say ‘Hey,’ he will be sitting right outside, ready to greet you.
