Community comes out to send off the Gulfport Admirals as they head to State Championship

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV SPORTS)- The Gulfport community was out in full force on Friday as they sent off the Gulfport High football team to State in style!

The Admirals are officially en route to Starkville as they play for the 2025 Class 7A state championship title on Saturday night.

If you know anything about the Blue and Orange, you know they weren’t loading up the buses without a celebration.

The football team, coaches, cheerleaders, and color guard proudly walked down every hall of Gulfport High as they were greeted with cheers from their peers and teachers.

The route continued to their practice field where they were joined by a loud Gulfport Admiral community including Mayor Hugh Keating.

The Gulfport Admirals face off against Tupelo Golden Wave Saturday at 7 p.m. in Davis Wade Stadium.
