Community comes out to celebrate holiday festivities in Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- In Biloxi, the Children’s Christmas Parade and Lighting of the Town Green brought the Christmas spirit to the city.
Even with the cold weather, there was a big turn out at the event.
The parade featured children on hay wagons decorated for the Christmas season. Beads were tossed to the crowd.
At the end of the parade, everyone gathered for the tree lighting at the Biloxi Town Green.
When the countdown ended and the lights were turned on, Santa Claus waited for children to come by and share their Christmas wishes.
Dancers from Kelli’s Steps were front and center, performing routines to popular Christmas songs while attendees sipped hot coco and ate cookies.
Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich says this is a special annual tradition to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
The lights can be seen from Highway 90 as you drive past the Beau Rivage and Hard Rock casinos.
