Community comes out to 20th annual Red, White, and Blueberry Festival in Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- It was a day of flavor, fun and community spirit in the heart of Ocean Springs.

Saturday was the day to eat all things blueberry and support local farmers at the Red, White, and Blueberry Festival in Downtown Ocean Springs.

Hosted by the Ocean Springs Main Street Association in partnership with the Ocean Springs Fresh Market, the annual event featured many vendors offering everything from fresh produce to blueberry-themed treats.

Free vanilla ice cream from Kilwin’s Ice Cream creamery, topped with juicy blueberries and strawberries was given away to visitors. Gary Pratt with Berry, Berry Good Blueberry Farm said, “It’s amazing. So many people, so friendly. It’s just been awesome, awesome experience and very much enjoying it.   We have 27 acres of organic blueberry farms. It’s a u pick so we can, anybody can come out seven days a week from 9:00 AM to dusk and and pick up all the blueberries you want.”

From fresh berries to local vendors, it was a sweet celebration of community and summer flavor in the heart of Ocean Springs.
