Community cleanup in District 4 in Gulfport
In an effort to beautify Gulfport, community leaders came together with volunteers to help clean up District 4.
The goal of the community cleanup was to help unify the neighborhood and encourage a sense of pride when living in a cleaner environment.
Each ward had a supply pick-up location where volunteers would gather to collect all their supplies.
Over 11 locations within District 4 were cleaned up. Harrison County Board of Supervisor for District 4 Kent Jones said, “Well, we always just try to do a little bit when people come into our city. They drive down our streets, we want them to be able to see some nice greenery and you can’t see greenery if it’s all scattered with paper. So, we just try to do a little bit. Everybody is always doing a cleanup. We are just to add to the fun of it.”
Masks, t-shirts, and lunch was provided for the volunteers.
