College students put new perspective on cold cases
It’s a college class that’s only the second of its kind, a criminal justice special topics class that investigates cold cases.
These William Carey University students are nearing graduation and stopped by News 25 to tell us a little bit about what they do.
Thanks to Sheriff Troy Peterson and other Harrison County investigators, every Tuesday they meet at the Harrison County Jail in Gulfport where they sit down and put their fresh set of eyes on cases that investigators have been trying to solve for years, even decades.
Dr. Karla Pope, chair of the Criminal Justice Department, tells News 25 this prepares students for their future career.
