College baseball and softball volunteer assistants now full-time
A game changer on the collegiate diamond today, the Division I council approved a measure to turn all volunteer assistants in baseball and softball into full time coaches.
First reported by Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball, adding those positions will become official on July 1st. Recruiting limitations also lifted from that fourth coaching position, rounding out a staff that includes a head coach, hitting coach, and pitching coach.
